On January 1, 2006 Smith County Implement in Smith Center, KS, Phillips County Implement in Phillipsburg, KS, McClymont Implement, INC. in Holdrege, NE, and the Minden Terminal in Minden, NE, merged their ownership groups forming a new John Deere dealership organization, LandMark Implement INC.

All of these dealerships have roots that run deep in South central Nebraska and North central Kansas.

In 1947 Dick McClymont and his father Clyde, purchased the John Deere Dealership in Holdrege, NE from C.M. Brown forming McClymont Implement, INC. In 1981 Dick’s two sons Richard McClymont and Ted McClymont joined their father in the farm equipment business; Dick later retired in 1985 and remained on the Board of Directors until his death in 2000. In 1994 Richard, Ted and Dick bought a dealership in Alma, NE.

Due to continuous changes in agriculture and the equipment business, in 1999, Richard McClymont, Ted McClymont, Troy Lorenzen and Warren Miller joined forces and purchased Smith County Implement in Smith Center, KS and Phillips County Implement in Phillipsburg, KS.  This expansion provided future growth and stability that is needed in Agriculture today.

In 2001 Richard and Ted McClymont purchased Dick McBride’s shares of the Minden Terminal and became business partners with Jim Mach who had worked for Deere and Company as a Territory Manager before becoming a partner in the Minden Terminal several years prior to Dick’s retirement.

In mid-2005 Richard and Ted McClymont, Jim Mach, Troy Lorenzen and Warren Miller felt that a merger between all locations would provide significant advantages to farmers and customers.  On January 1, 2006 they began LandMark Implement INC. Agriculture in their trade area faces many challenges; competitiveness to allow farmers to keep their expenses as low as possible and water issues are only a couple of items that are affecting local producers immensely.

The business philosophy of LandMark Implement INC. will continue to be the same at all of its locations! LandMark Implement currently employs over 100 people and with very little turn over throughout the years; thus the faces have remained the same with our customer service continuing to improve!

LandMark Implement INC. welcomes and thanks all our customers for their business, and looks forward to many more years providing professional customer service!
